The Dispatch
News, numbers, and new faces — the first week of every month.
“When a mistake impacts our customer, it becomes our mistake, because they expect us to be the experts. Mistakes happen—what matters is we share them, own them, and ask what we can do differently.”
September is about ownership, learning, and getting better every day. Do not keep a lesson to yourself; share it with the team so we can improve together. That is how we learn, grow stronger, and become better partners to our customers.
Good Habits = Good Life
Bad Habits = Bad Life
Great Habits = Great Life
Good Habits = Great Life
Two daily practices that compound into the best version of you.
This month I want to talk about something that'll move the needle for Y-Not: you. A better you makes Y-Not better. So, two habits that will make you better, and more valuable to yourself and to Y-Not. First: tomorrow, get up five minutes earlier than usual and read for five minutes. Read whatever holds your attention—a comic book, a sports article, it doesn't matter. Right now, reading isn't the point; developing the habit in the easiest way possible is. The next day, get up six minutes early. The day after, seven. Small enough you'll barely notice it, but it compounds. Stick with it five days a week, and three months from now you're up an hour early, reading an hour a day.
Here's the part people miss: doing easy reading is the smartest way to build the habit, not a compromise. Babies crawl before they walk, walk before they run. The content upgrade comes later, once the habit's locked in. Once you're ready to read more substantially, I can recommend great books. One last note: priorities come first. If reading matters to you, and I think it should, put it at the front of your day.
“Treat AI like a sharp new hire in their first week. Full of capability, short on judgment.”
— Dean Nash on Daily OutputThe second habit is about output. Here's something I've learned using AI every day: if you don't ask “what am I missing,” it won't tell you. The productivity gain isn't about the tool—it's the habit around it. Don't accept the first answer. Follow up: What's wrong with this? Does this actually make sense? Is this the best way to do this? Treat AI like a sharp new hire in their first week. Full of capability, short on judgment.
The people who get the most out of it aren't the ones with the best prompts; they're the ones who demand more out of every answer. Two habits, every day: what you read, and what you settle for. Choose wisely.

From Behind the Scenes to Center Stage: What Our CEO Learned at Cannes Lions
A Reflection on Product, Brand, and the Power of the Tangible
Palais des Festivals, Cannes · July 2026
In the month of June, our CEO Angelina Garcia attended Cannes Lions-the world's premier festival for creativity, innovation, and brand excellence. What started as a trip to experience the keynotes, conversations, and ideas has evolved into something deeper: a collection of insights that reinforce why Y-Not Collective exists and what we believe about the role of physical products in brand strategy. The Merch Stays—Everything Else Fades. Ask ten people what they remember best about a major event like Cannes. Most will tell you about the merch. Over a month later, the experience has become a collection of great memories—the conversations, the keynotes, the ideas. But there's something tangible we're all holding onto from Cannes: it's the merchandise. This is the paradox of modern branding. We spend billions on digital campaigns, sponsored content, and ads that scroll past in seconds. Yet what people actually remember—what they carry home, use daily, and associate with your brand—is often something physical they can hold.
One thoughtful design detail transformed a simple scarf into something far more versatile.
“That's exactly what great branded products do. They don't just put a company's logo in someone's hands; they become something people genuinely want to use.”
After working on branded products for the biggest names in the world, Y-Not Collective approaches each product with a single guiding question: Will I use it? Would I love it? Is the quality so good that someone would choose to wear it again tomorrow? If the answer is yes, you've created more than merchandise. You've created something worth keeping. Here's the truth that Cannes reinforced: a brand isn't what you see on a screen. It's what you remember. It's what's in your hand on the way out. The products that matter most are the ones people choose to keep—not because they were forced to, but because they're genuinely useful, beautifully designed, and worth using again tomorrow. That's the Y-Not difference.
